SPORT ENGLAND Lacrosse Survey ...

Earlier this year Sport England undertook a nationwide survey to gain an understanding of people's 'satisfaction with the quality of the sporting experience’. As well as more 'mainstream' sports such as football, cricket and golf (45 sports in total), the survey also included lacrosse.

The survey was administered by Ipsos MORI and sought to find out more about why people take part in sport, and what factors impact on their satisafction levels. Sport England's reasoning behind the survey being that a quality overall sporting experience is more likely to keep people involved and playing. The survey also sought to find out why people sometimes stop taking part and their overall perceptions and views of club sport.

In total, 391 people took part and the results are based on questions asked about all aspects of the sport, including facilities, officials and value for money. The results show that the overall satisfaction level in lacrosse was almost 80%, a figure which compares favourably with other sports.

Sport EnglandSport England is a government body charged with 'building the foundations of sporting success, by creating a world-leading community sport system of clubs, coaches, facilities and volunteers'.

The agency also invests expertise, resources and both government and Lottery money into community sports, and brings together a wide range of partners from local and national government, the commercial sector, higher and further education and the third sector to make the most of their investment in sport.
